Job with UNFCCC

Chunyu visiting a hydro power station in Southwest ChinaI have just received an offer with the CDM Registration & Issuance Unit under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The Unit is based in the UNFCCC's secretariat, Bonn, Germany, and is responsible for the registration of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects and for the issuance of certified emission reduction (CERs) credits, under the CDM Executive Board that oversees the whole CDM system. I will be working on the issuance side as much of my past year's experience with my current company, EcoSecurities, a market leader in the CDM field, relates to CDM project monitoring & verification.

Working for Environment and Development in Latin America

I am currently working for UNDP Bolivia, writing for the Human Development Report (HDR) 2008. I do research and analysis on the environmental and local socio-economic impacts of biofuels expansion, mining activities and development projects in Bolivia such as road and hydroelectric dams development.

There is life after MESPOM

If one is there to ask whether there is life after MESPOM, believe me, there is. And this life is not less intensive, interesting and exciting than it used to be during our wonderful MESPOM years.

After graduating in 2007, I am starting PhD studies at Central European University. I continue to work on bio-energy issues, trying to promote the idea that biofuels could save the world. Wink Just kidding...

Frankly speaking, I am very happy to be back in Budapest again, work on things that I am interested in, collaborate with highly professional people at CEU and IIIEE, stay both as a part of scientific/academic world as well as to live students life... I actually realize that this is something I was always looking for.

Environmentally friendly car

As it happens, my friend's car was crashed and he decided to replace it with an environmentally friendly model. But how to make a choice? He called me and asked what is 'greener':
