While preparing MESPOM thesis, I decided to take advantage of our global network and focus on a topic that was not just environmental but also related to the social and economic dimensions of sustainability. Through a partnership between MESPOM, Stockholm Environment Institute, The International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics and the Course on Energy for Sustainable Development, I was able to travel to Vietnam and study biogas enterpreneurship.

Applications are now open for the next “Foundation Session” of the Energy for Sustainable Development Online Course (E4SD), scheduled from 18 August – 28 September 2008.

The E4SD Course aims to provide deeper knowledge of energy’s relationship to sustainable development and how the delivery of clean, affordable energy services, wise management of energy resources, and the leveraging of technological and institutional energy related opportunities can serve as instruments to reach that goal.
