Student finances
Tuition fee
MESPOM has a unified tuition fee independent of the track the student is taking:
-
10,500 euro/year for students from outside the European Union;
-
1,500 euro/year for nationals of the European Union member states.
The fee covers access to all learning facilities and all education activities including field trips. The tuition fee may be subject to minor changes by the MESPOM Academic Board.
Living expenses
Estimates for living expenses in Hungary (the first year of the programme) are available from CEU; in Sweden - from Lund University; and in the UK - from the University of Manchester.
Erasmus Mundus scholarships
Successful applicants from MESPOM coming from outside the European Union, EEA/EFTA and the candidate countries may apply for Erasmus Mundus scholarships from the European Commission. The EM scholarship equals 42,000 euro for two years of study.
Other Financial Aid
MESPOM Tuition waivers. From 2006/2007, the MESPOM Consortium introduced a tuition waiver programme for third-country students. Excellent candidates may be offered 50% tuition waivers.
CEU Fellowships. A limited number of CEU fellowships are available to successful MESPOM applicants who are not eligible for Erasmus Mundus scholarships (e.g. from the EU countries).
EU students on MESPOM are also supported through the Erasmus-Socrates programme (during Semester 3) and Action 3 grants of the Erasmus Mundus programme (during Semester 4).
CEU handles the payment of Erasmus Mundus scholarships on behalf of the MESPOM Consortium as well as other scholarships. Scholarships are paid in monthly installements. CEU assists in opening a bank account and obtaining a bank card. Scholarships and stipends are not taxed in Hungary.
