Presentation for Bioenergy Australia - Examining Emissions Trading
Posted July 7th, 2008 by kesI was recently invited to present to the membership of Bioenergy Australia on the topic of policy support and bioenergy systems. I talked primarily about experiences from Europe and Sweden, and what lessons Australia could learn, especially with the political committment to implement an emissions trading scheme in Australia.
Back in Oz
Posted June 12th, 2008 by kesI arrived in Australia (commonly called Oz) last week, but have only just started to recover from the jet-lag. Spending 24 hours on a plane will do that to you ...
But it's great to be here at Melbourne University again on a second ENVERA research exchange. The first exchange took place late last year. The purpose of this exchange is to continue to build relationships with Melbourne University, and begin developing concrete research proposals that engage both Lund and Melbourne in joint work.

Distributed Energy - A Global Review
Posted December 6th, 2007 by kesI am conducting research on Distributed Energy (DE) as part of my ENVERA exchange at Melbourne University in Australia. DE is commonly understood as small and medium scale technologies that generate electricity (and possibly heat). The term is often used to describe energy generated by units that are close to the location of use (but they can also feed into the grid). Examples include solar hot water heaters or wind turbines.

Posted November 21st, 2007 by kesI have arrived in Australia after more than 24 hours of flying from Copenhagen, with a stopover in Singapore, then to Melbourne. It's certainly a long trip, but the summer weather is worth it!
I will be working at ACSIS at Melbourne University developing a project with a large energy company, called Origin Energy who are well-known in this part of the world.

I am a faculty member at the IIIEE at Lund University in Sweden. I will undertake a research exchange (from Nov 17 to Jan 11) at the Australian Center for Science, Innovation and Society (ACSIS) at Melbourne University in Australia as part of ENVERA. ENVERA is a partnership between the MESPOM Consortium and eight other institutions of higher education in six countries supported by an Erasmus Mundus Action 3 grant from the European Commission. |
